By Eric on Friday, January 09, 2009 - 03:18 am: Edit PostI want to wish a very Happy Birthday to Miss Amy (Peace Corps in Treasure Beach in '97). I'm currently visiting her in Malawi, Southern Africa where she's working with the Center for Disease Control monitoring and evaluating AIDS/HIV programs.

Amy, you're doing wonderful work and as I've seen over the past couple of weeks you're still making friends everywhere you go. You're not getting older, you're getting better!

By Miss Amy on Sunday, January 11, 2009 - 06:12 am: Edit PostThanks for the birthday wishes Eric and Rebecca! I am just now seeing this post for the first time...and I must say, it brought tears to my eyes. I love you both dearly (and I already miss you, Eric - and your flight hasn't even left Lilongwe...I'm assuming that you're sweating buckets on the runway waiting for the plane to take off) :-)

Have a safe flight back to Austin. And I look forward to this next decade of continued love and friendship!

Sending much love to everyone in Treasure Beach (especially Miss Ruby, Troy, Andy and Trudy Ann).

(And to answer mnken's question - I am originally from Kansas City - which is where I grew up).
