By Suzanne on Friday, December 31, 2010 - 08:04 pm: Edit PostIn looking back on my favorite things of 2010, I love that someone we knew and admired already, had shared his beautiful voice with the world! Congrats to Joseph Elliot (Junior) ~ I bought your CD earlier this year on iTunes and am listening to it tonight and thinking of the people and places I love! Happy New Year Treasure Beach!

By Salutah on Sunday, January 02, 2011 - 07:29 am: Edit PostHave to say, in the video of the beautifully varied Treasure Beach coastline and the fishing boats streaming off on their adventures, there seemed a real disconnect with the lyrics:
Crime is the only thing I see...Oh God up in heaven...Send your angels down to Rescue Me.

Is Joseph really testifying from some personal, pervasive "urban jungle" experience...or is his song a distant artistic empathy with the suffras...or, as we might like to think, the vibes & community support of Treasure Beach Rescued Him?

By Suzanne on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 - 10:48 am: Edit PostTo Salutah, I had those same thoughts about that chorus vs. the beautiful and pastoral images of Treasure Beach, but in the end just decided he's singing about a universal problem. The town I live in is very small too, so not a lot of "big city" problems, but I can still relate. Actually, my personal fave off the album is "What Happened To Those Days".

I like watching the video when I miss being there (which is often - Rescue ME, Treasure Beach)!!

*note* - the YouTube link I gave earlier shows that particular video is now "private", whatever that means. Here is a YouTube link that works:

Better yet, I've found two sites where you can check out his bio, watch the video, and sample the other songs on the album; this one:

... and this one, where you can even download the song, "I'm Sorry" for free:

By Joshua on Tuesday, March 01, 2011 - 08:14 pm: Edit PostI noticed the same thing as Salutah the first time I watched the video: the chorus did not match the video. Then I watched the video a few weeks later and magically the video changed! There are homeless people in Kingston and crime. It is much better now. You can view it at:
