Robert Wright was born in Newell, St. Elizabeth, a district located near Treasure Beach and moved to Treasure Beach at a young age.

As a young adult Robert worked at an auto body shop until he moved to Grand Cayman where he worked as a painter and eventually learned the carpentry trade.

For the next several years he spent time in Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Anguilla where he learned the trade of boat building and honed his skills as a carpenter. He started to hand carve jewelry boxes and boats as a hobby several years ago.

He currently continues his work as a carpenter and is the caretaker of Doubloon Villa.
